Free Speech For People supports the Democracy For All Amendment, which includes a Senate amendment bill (S.J.Res.8, 115th Congress) and a House amendment bill (H.J.Res.31, 115th Congress). The Democracy For All Amendment ends the big money dominance of our elections and allows for Congress and the States to set overall limits on campaign spending, including prohibitions on corporate and union spending in the political process (as existed prior to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. FEC).
We also support the People’s Rights Amendment, which includes a Senate amendment bill (S.J.Res.20, 115th Congress) and an accompanying House amendment bill (H.J.Res. 88, 115th Congress). The People’s Rights Amendment overturns the fabricated doctrine of corporate constitutional rights and restores the promise of American self-government: of, by, and for the people.
For background on why we need an amendment and how to achieve one, see Fixing the Supreme Court’s Mistake: The Case for the Twenty-Eighth Amendment.
