Posted on February 17, 2021 FSFP Updates Share: Free Speech For People is pleased to announce that Alexandra Flores-Quilty has joined the staff in the newly created position of Campaign Director. A seasoned social justice organizer and advocate, Ms. Flores-Quilty brings to Free Speech For People a deep knowledge of campaign strategy, democracy reform, and coalition building. Prior to joining the staff of Free Speech For People, Flores-Quilty co-founded and served as the Executive Director of By the People. By the People was a pro-democracy grassroots campaign that organized to impeach and remove Donald Trump from office. Under her leadership, By the People organized hundreds of demonstrations during the course of the campaign, co-founded a national impeachment coalition, and contributed to the groundswell of public support that ultimately led to Trump’s impeachment. Ms. Flores-Quilty got her start in organizing as a student when she served as Chair of the Oregon Student Association (OSA) where she was a part of winning instate tuition for undocumented Oregonians and developing OSA’s electoral program that broke records around the country in voter registration and turnout. Later she served as the elected President of the US Student Association (USSA) where she worked with Senator Bernie Sanders’s office to introduce federal legislation for free higher education and organized the 2015 Million Student March. Ms. Flores-Quilty was a co-founder of #AllofUs, that built political power behind progressive candidates. Ms. Flores-Quilty is a Lead Trainer at the Momentum Training Institute where she has trained and supported social movements in the US and around the world. “We are thrilled to have Alexandra join us at Free Speech For People as our Campaign Director,” says John Bonifaz, Co-Founder and President of Free Speech For People. “Alexandra brings a stellar record of leadership and vision as a campaign strategist, organizer, and coalition-builder.
