Rabbi Michael Pollack and FSFP Campaign Organizer Jax Foley have a new op-ed in Penn Live urging Pennsylvania lawmakers to pass HB497, closing a dangerous loophole that allows foreign-influenced corporations to spend money in state and local elections.

They write:

Foreign-influenced corporations can drown out the voices of Pennsylvania residents, skewing policies on everything from labor rights to environmental protections. This undermines the principle that elections should reflect the will of the people, not the wealth and priorities of multinational corporations.

Organizations like MarchOnHarrisburg (MoH) and Free Speech For People are championing HB497 because elections should be determined by the voters and not by multi-national corporations spending unlimited amounts of money.
