While the 2010 Citizens United case allowed corporations to make unlimited campaign expenditures to influence our elections, McCutcheon will enable the wealthy few to give more money directly to the candidates themselves. Right now members from Free Speech for People along with citizens and activists from other pro-democracy groups are rallying at the steps of SCOTUS to stand up against McCutcheon. You can watch the rally live on CSPAN and follow updates on our twitter and facebook pages. Free Speech For People’s Steve Cobble speaking at SCOTUS Activists standing up against big money in politics If the case wins, it will ultimately allow the super-rich to make multi-million dollar campaign contributions in our in federal, state and local elections. We hope you will join us in taking action against this continuation of the attack on our democracy by wealthy interests by clicking here to support a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United. The amendments we’ve endorsed would address the problem of big-money dominance of our elections even under the worse case of McCutcheon.
