Posted on May 20, 2011 (July 15, 2020) Democracy Amendments Share: At a town meeting held in Williamstown, MA, on May 17, residents voted to pass a resolution calling upon Congress to adopt a Constitutional Amendment to regulate the expenditure of funds for political speech by any corporate entity, and to restore the First Amendment to the people. These resolutions will be sent to state and federal lawmakers in order to ask for their leadership and immediate action on this issue. Williamstown joins Brewster, Dennis, Orleans, Chatham, Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, and Great Barrington in advocating for a Constitutional Amendment in response to Citizens United.
