Craig Newmark Philanthropies works to protect the values that America aspires to: fairness, opportunity, and respect. We are grateful to receive this critical support from Craig Newmark Philanthropies and to work together to strengthen our democratic process.

With this support, Free Speech For People will carry out the following key initiatives:

• Challenging super PACs and foreign corporate money in US elections: Free Speech For People worked to pass the first legislation in the country to abolish super PACs and spending by foreign-influenced corporations in our elections. We are now advancing similar legislation in Massachusetts, New York, and other states across the country. Click here to learn more!

• Protecting our elections through legal action: We are fighting back against the new threats to our democracy that have emerged since the November 2020 election, including challenging voter intimidation and voter suppression efforts; preparing litigation to fight state voter suppression legislation, if enacted; and continuing to challenge insecure and unreliable electronic voting systems. • Advancing new Democracy Amendments: We have drafted and are now advancing the Free and Fair Elections Amendment to end big money dominance of our elections.
