Constitutional law experts cite Kennedy’s abuses of power to decimate the U.S. public health system.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 10, 2025) – Free Speech For People today launched  “Impeach Kennedy Now,” a nonpartisan campaign urging Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., for his abuses of power to decimate the U.S. public health system.

“Kennedy is dismantling America’s public health infrastructure and destroying our public health protections, expertise, research, data, and safeguards,” the campaign states. “He is endangering the health and safety of American residents, putting millions of lives in danger, and sabotaging the place the United States once held as a leader in scientific and medical advancements.”

Free Speech For People argues that Kennedy has also enabled and furthered several impeachable offenses committed by President Trump, including undermining public health and safety; abusing his power in order to deprive the American public of accurate political, historic, scientific, and medical information; attempting to unlawfully deport Guatemalan children under the care of HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement; and defying Congress by blocking appropriated funds from reaching their intended recipients.

Further, the campaign states that Kennedy broke a promise to Congressional members from his February confirmation hearing that he would not alter the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. Instead, he arbitrarily dismissed all 17 members of that advisory committee in June, then terminated newly confirmed CDC Director Dr. Susan Monarez. Moranez clashed with Kennedy and his staff members over inaccurate and unscientific changes they planned to make to guidance on vaccines. Kennedy also has significant conflicts of interest due to his profiting from the wellness industry and potential contingency fees he, or those close to him, may gain from anti-vaccine lawsuits.

Kennedy faced bipartisan backlash last week while testifying at a recent Senate Finance Committee hearing. Senators questioned Kennedy’s restrictions on access to this year’s COVID-19 vaccine, Monarez’s firing, and his anti-vaccine views.
