We are thrilled to announce that Free Speech For People is a recipient of a grant award from Craig Newmark Philanthropies to support our work to get big money out of politics and to fight for free and fair elections for all!

Craig Newmark Philanthropies works to protect the values that America aspires to: fairness, opportunity, and respect. We are honored to be selected for a grant from Craig Newmark Philanthropies and to work together to advance these shared values.

The grant award from Craig Newmark Philanthropies will directly support our efforts to defend voters, our elections, and our democracy. We are carrying out this work with the following key initiatives:

• Fighting in the courts to protect voters casting a ballot during the pandemic: Free Speech For People is advancing litigation in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Texas to seek court orders to enact safe-voting protocols for voters who need or choose to vote in person this November. With this litigation, we are working to ensure that voters are not forced to choose between protecting their personal health and exercising their right to vote. • Advancing our case to abolish super PACs: In November 2016, we filed a lawsuit against the Federal Election Commission to challenge the Speechnow ruling – a decision which has led to the explosion of super PAC spending in elections. We have now filed a petition for review before the U.S. Supreme Court, presenting the Court with the first opportunity to end super PAC spending in US elections. • Introducing a new constitutional amendment to get big money out of politics: Free Speech For People has drafted and is now advancing the Free and Fair Elections Amendment to end the big money dominance of our elections.
