October 2011

Free Speech For People is a national, non-partisan campaign dedicated to ensuring Constitutional rights and self-government of the American people, and to defending democracy and republican government against unbalanced multinational corporate power. Free Speech for People is working with organizations, businesses, and hundreds of thousands of people across the country to enact the People’s Rights Amendment. We are running a national campaign as well as state-based field campaigns to pass local and statewide resolutions. Our goal is clear: pass and ratify a 28th Amendment to the US Constitution to overturn the US Supreme Court’s January 2010 ruling in Citizens United v. FEC, to challenge the fabrication of corporate rights in the Constitution, and to restore government of the people.

Free Speech For People seeks to hire a Legal Director to spearhead our work in the courts. The Legal Director will have significant experience with and a passion for Constitutional law, democracy, appellate advocacy, litigation, and public policy. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required. The position reports to the Executive Director of Free Speech For People (John Bonifaz). Free Speech For People offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Free Speech For People staff members are based across the country. The location for this position is flexible.
