FSFP President John Bonifaz recently appeared on The BradCast to discuss TrumpIsDisqualified.org, a national grassroots campaign to urge Secretaries of State and other chief elections officials to bar former President Donald Trump from appearing on any future ballot based on his incitement of the Jan 6 insurrection. Bonifaz also discussed the implications of Attorney General Garland’s recent appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate the former President.

The following are excerpts from the discussion:

The evidence is overwhelming that Donald Trump both incited this insurrection and encouraged it, and the House Select Committee has laid that out for the public to see. Every Secretary of State, every chief election official in the country whose duty it is to ensure that people who are appearing on their state ballots comply with the requirements of that office under the Constitution, now have a duty to bar Donald Trump from the ballot because he is disqualified under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.”

“On the day Merrick Garland assumed the office of Attorney General he had well laid out evidence of defrauding the United States in an indictment that had led to Trump’s former lawyer going to federal prison, and he had a two-year investigation by a Special Counsel that had been completed with extensive findings including ten instances of obstruction of justice.
