Posted on May 30, 2014 (June 27, 2022) Democracy Amendments Share: This Tuesday, June 3, at 10:30 AM, the Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on on SJ Res 19, introduced by Senator Tom Udall, calling for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United, McCutcheon and Buckley V. Valeo to restore the ability of Congress and the states to regulate political spending. SJ Res 19 currently has 40 cosponsors. In the coming months, the full Senate will then be VOTING on a constitutional amendment proposal! This is a HUGE moment for our movement. That’s why we are asking each and every one of you to do your part in amplifying the news and take action. There are several critical ways you can get involved right now: 1.Sign this petition showing your support for S.J. Res 19, proposed by Senator Tom Udall, to reclaim our democracy. 2.If you live in the DC area, attend the hearing or invite your local DC friends.
