This week, Free Speech for People president and co-founder John Bonifaz joined the 80th Week of the Bearing Witness rally outside the ICE facility in Burlington, MA.  

I’m honored, deeply honored to be here with you today. This is my first visit. But I really am deeply honored.

Week 80, week 80, you have been here every week to say to those who are illegally detained inside that building and to those illegally detained in detention camps all across this country that we see you. We see you. We see your humanity, and we bear witness to the injustice that is happening to you.

This is a critical, critical project that you’re engaged in, and I commend you for standing out here 75-plus weeks and demanding that voice be heard.

We are here today to stand up for our democracy, to stand up for human dignity, to stand up for our Constitution, to stand up for the rule of law, and to stand up for that basic principle that no one is above the law, not even the president of the United States.
