As we respect the words and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., it is essential that we remember how much further we must go in the fight for racial, political, and economic equality. Fifty years ago today Dr. King was assassinated. Yet fifty years later, his teachings and words still have so much wisdom to offer.

“When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism and militarism are incapable of being conquered.” —  “Revolution of Values,” Martin Luther King, Jr. (1967)

Free Speech For People is committed to continuing the fight for political equality, so we can all work towards eliminating oppressive systems in the United States. We truly believe that people come first; profit and property should not, and cannot, be considered more important than people.
