Montana Governor Brian Scweitzer (D) and his Lieutenant Governor, John Bohlinger (R) on Thursday became the first two Montanans to sign the petition to put a question calling for a US consitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United on the state’s ballot this November.

Here’s a great, short clip Gov. Schweitzer on Hardball with Chris Matthews last Friday, making the case that Citizens United enables corrupt bribery here in the U.S., bribery that would be illegal if American companies did it anywhere else in the world.  He also points out that foreigners who own corporate shares can now use this vehicle to influence American elections.  It’s all because of Citizens United, and that’s why Free Speech For People and Common Cause are working with Montana, leading the charge to overturn this terrible ruling.
