Citizens’ Impeachment, Removal Coalition, Free Speech For People, Women’s March, and 50501 Movement demand Congress impeach, convict, and remove Trump and senior Trump officials.

WASHINGTON D.C. — January 7, 2026 – The movement to impeach, convict, and remove Donald Trump and senior Trump officials from public office has gained new momentum following Trump’s illegal and unconstitutional military attack on Venezuela. Women’s March announced the Free America Walkout scheduled for January 20. In solidarity with this day of action, Citizens’ Impeachment, the Removal Coalition, Free Speech For People, Women’s March, and 50501 Movement announced today a collaboration to encourage people across the country to walk out and lobby their congressional offices in their districts demanding that Members of Congress advance articles of impeachment against Trump and senior Trump officials for multiple abuses of power.

This joint announcement follows a vote last month in the US House where 140 Members of Congress supported advancing Rep. Al Green’s articles of impeachment focused on Trump’s threat to execute Members of Congress and his threats and intimidation against federal judges. The vote marked a 77% increase in support for impeachment in the House since the prior House vote in June of last year, and came just weeks after tens of thousands of Americans rallied in Washington, D.C. for Remove the Regime, explicitly demanding that Congress act to impeach, convict, and remove Trump from office.

More than one million people across the country have now joined the call for impeachment proceedings against Trump through a petition at www.impeachtrumpagain.org, a campaign led by Free Speech For People.  Constitutional attorneys at Free Speech For People have documented in detail 25 grounds for impeachment, including the impeachable offenses committed with the military attack on Venezuela.

Further, Citizens’ Impeachment is advancing three impeachment resolutions against President Trump and key senior officials, Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, and Pam Bondi, Attorney General. Two resolutions impeach President Trump and Secretary Hegseth for Tyranny, including repeated usurpation of congressionally-mandated war powers, and Treason, for levying a “war from within” by deploying military (National Guard) and paramilitary (ICE) forces against the people of the United States. A third impeaches President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for obstruction of justice and violating federal law in their failure to release the Epstein Files to the public. Free Speech For People and other advocates have endorsed those impeachment resolutions.

“This is not hyperbole: Trump represents the single greatest threat to human civilization and the future of life on this planet that the United States has ever produced. It is long past time for Republicans, Democrats, and people of conscience everywhere to reject his treasonous behavior and honestly confront the historical parallels to the rise of fascism in 1930s Germany. We are standing on the edge of World War III, and pretending otherwise is complicity. We must impeach Trump while we still can,” said 50501 spokesperson Hunter Dunn. 

“There is one remedy in the Constitution for a lawless, tyrannical President: impeachment and removal. Millions of Americans are calling on Congress to do their job and hold this man accountable. The movement is growing, and Members of Congress are hearing directly from their constituents that we expect them to lead in this critical moment in our democracy,” said Alexandra Flores-Quilty, Campaign Director of Free Speech For People. 

“Congress has a constitutional duty to act when a president abuses power and defies the rule of law—and that is exactly what we are witnessing. Impeachment exists for moments like this: to enforce accountability and uphold the oath every member of Congress swore to defend the Constitution. That’s why this coalition is mobilizing Americans nationwide to walk out, walk in, and demand that their representatives protect our democracy by advancing articles of impeachment and removing Trump and senior officials from office. The cost of silence is simply too high,” said Rachel O’Leary Carmona, Executive Director of Women’s March.

“We are rising with a unified voice to demand that our lawmakers end their complicity in this administration’s flagrant crimes against democracy,” said Jessica Denson, founder of the Removal Coalition.  “The Constitution empowers Congress to remove a tyrant from office, and the survival of our republic requires nothing less than immediate action to impeach, convict and remove.” 

The groups are joining forces to bring impeachment demands directly to congressmembers in the new year, beginning with a partner event for the Women’s March Free America “walk-out” on January 20th.  Free America meets Remove the Regime will encourage citizens to walk out of their schools and workplaces, and walk into their local congressional office to lobby for impeachment and removal.  

Establishment representatives like Jim Clyburn (SC-06) have recently warmed up to the idea of impeaching Trump administration officials, citing the Supreme Court’s inability to restrain the President. Congress has yet to mount meaningful opposition to the regime, and impeachment efforts have been repeatedly dismissed by leadership. 

The American people do not share Congress’ hesitation to impeach — impeachment is broadly popular across the country, in both rural and urban districts. A recent poll commissioned by Free Speech For People shows a plurality of voters within swing districts also support impeachment. United States Air Force veteran and Executive Director of Citizens’ Impeachment, Keira Havens, said, “It’s simple: Trump regularly and repeatedly violates his oath of office to support and defend the Constitution. The constitutional remedy to his unconstitutional actions is impeachment. The American people insist Congress act to remove this unfit president.” 

The administration’s illegal and unconstitutional January 3, 2026 military strikes on Venezuela are part of a larger pattern of unchecked aggression including unilateral strikes on Iran conducted without congressional oversight in June 2025, the repeated bombings of boats and shipwrecked survivors in the Caribbean, and threats of military action in Greenland, Cuba, Columbia, and the entire western hemisphere immediately after the strike on Venezuela.
