Posted on November 20, 2020 Challenging Corruption Share: One of the hallmarks of our presidential elections is the peaceful transition of power from one president to the next. Even when a sitting president has lost his bid for a second term, he has graciously conceded and prepared for the newly-elected president to take office. President Trump, however, has not only refused to concede the 2020 election. He is actively conspiring to try to overturn the election results, block votes from being counted, and subvert the Constitution and our democracy. Moreover, he and General Services Administration administrator Emily Murphy are placing President-Elect Biden and his team at a severe disadvantage by refusing to begin the process of ascertainment, which releases critical funds and resources to the incoming administration. This includes classified data needed to combat the latest surge in COVID-19 cases. Denying the peaceful transition of power is dangerous to our democracy, our safety, and our health. Nearly two weeks after Biden was declared the winner, enough is enough. Join a family-friendly, COVID-safe, nonviolent march in your community on Black Friday, November 27, 2020. It is #TimetoTransition.
