Social media companies like Facebook and Twitter are facing increased calls for federal regulation in the wake of last week’s attack on the U.S. Capitol, in which armed, right-wing militants engaged in a violent insurrection incited by President Trump.

FSFP Board Chair and Senior Legal Advisor Ben Clements joined Jim Braude on WGBH-TV’s Greater Boston show on Monday, along with Jeannie Suk Gersen of Harvard Law School, to discuss the dire need for such regulations.

 

The danger that was being imposed by Trump’s lies and incitements of violence has been going on for many, many months…There is a desperate need for federal regulation of these social media companies.
