Posted on May 14, 2026 Supreme Court Share: After sweeping Supreme Court decision that could add 19 more gop house seats and impact the outcome of the midterms, 50+ groups, including Stand Up America, Free Speech For People, Take Back the Court Action Fund, National Education Association, and League of Conservation Voters, send letter to Congress urging Supreme Court reform. More than 50 organizations dedicated to defending voting rights, the environment, reproductive rights, and more sent a letter to members of Congress calling for structural reforms to the Supreme Court following its decision in Louisiana v. Callais. The signatories argue that the ruling, which guts Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, warns that Congress cannot hope to protect the freedom to vote without reforming our nation’s highest court. From the letter: “Without passing structural court reforms, the Court’s far-right supermajority can be expected to halt any future attempts by Congress to restore our democracy, rein in executive power, or protect voting rights, including by striking down a future Voting Rights Act. It is time that Democrats recognize this reality.” Read the full letter here.
