We appreciate the talent, time, and commitment to defending our democracy that these law students bring to the Free Speech For People team. Learn more about our new Legal Advocacy Program interns below! Andrew Straky is a rising second year student at Columbia Law School. He graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Government in 2019 and worked on political campaigns before law school. Andrew enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling in his free time. Erica Newman-Corré is a rising second year student at Harvard Law School. She graduated from Harvard College in 2019 with a concentration in Chemistry and a secondary field in government. Prior to law school, she taught high school science at a public school in New York City. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and practicing yoga. Julia Herrmann is a rising second-year student at Berkeley Law. She graduated from Cornell University in 2019 with a B.A. in Government and a B.A. in German Studies. Before law school, she worked in political campaigns and LGBTQ+ rights. She likes backpacking and horror movies. Maria Mancha is a rising third-year student at the University of Dayton School of Law. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2020. Prior to attending law school, she interned at a Congressional Office. Maria has a passion for human rights and education, and during her free time, she enjoys painting. Nithin Venkatraman is a rising second-year student at Harvard Law School and Kennedy School. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018 with a major in neurobiology and physiology, and a minor in jazz guitar performance. Prior to law school, Nithin worked as a chief of staff in the Maryland Senate. In his free time, Nithin enjoys running, reading, and playing guitar.
