In a video posted to her Facebook page, Zephyr Teachout explains President Trump’s abuse of power and why she is joining over 1.1 million people at ImpeachDonaldTrumpNow.org to call on Congress to begin an impeachment investigation of President Trump. Professor Teachout has joined the Legal Advisory Board of the Campaign to Impeach Donald Trump Now, a growing national movement for an impeachment investigation of President Trump. The campaign, launched on Inauguration Day and led by two public interest organizations – Free Speech For People and RootsAction.org, is calling on Congress to start this investigation based on the President’s direct and ongoing violations of the two anti-corruption provisions of the US Constitution and based on the President’s apparent interference with a criminal investigation by firing FBI Director James Comey. The campaign also recently expanded its call for an impeachment investigation to include questions of a potential conspiracy between the Trump Campaign and the Russian Government following the publication by Donald Trump, Jr. and The New York Times of emails regarding a June 2016 meeting between senior Trump Campaign officials and a Russian lawyer with alleged links to the Russian Government. The Campaign to Impeach Donald Trump Now is jointly releasing this video with Creatives In Action, an all-volunteer collective of artists, creative professionals and activists founded by Jenny Mayer and Jennifer Ross. The video is directed by Noah Hutton, produced by Jenny Mayer, and animated by Mary Hawkins. Other members of the campaign’s prestigious Legal Advisory Board include: Harvard Law Professor Larry Tribe, Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Lessig; former Montana Supreme Court Justice James Nelson; former Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Justice Fernande R.V. Duffly; University of Tulsa Law Professor Tamara Piety; former Temple University Law Professor David Post; Equal Justice Society President Eva Paterson; George Washington University Law Professor Catherine Ross; Cornell University Law Professor Steven Shiffrin; Vermont Law Professor James Gustave Speth; Vermont Law Professor Jennifer Taub; and University of Denver Law Professor Nancy Leong.
