Free Speech for People and coalition partners MoveOn, Need to Impeach, Indivisible, By the People and March for Truth are supporting the launch of a new initiative modeled after the #MuellerBookClub called Impeachment University. 

The project involves a weekly webinar where legal experts, political analysts, commentators, lawmakers and activists educate everyday citizens on the law and process of impeachment. As the 2020 presidential election draws closer, the movement to impeach President Trump has continued to gain momentum.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election identified ten instances of the President obstructing justice. Following Mueller’s testimony on Capitol Hill last month, over 100 legislators were reported to be in favor of holding the President accountable via impeachment – an increase from 84 the month before.

With the news that an impeachment inquiry is finally underway in the House Judiciary Committee, it is time for Americans to educate one another about the Constitutional process of impeachment.  

The first webinar is scheduled to take place on August 5th at 8:30 PM Eastern. Free Speech For People Legal Director Ron Fein will be discussing concerns around the timeline, scope, and public strategy of the impeachment inquiry just launched by the House Judiciary Committee.
