Free Speech For People is pleased to announce our new 2015 Summer Law Clerks. We welcome these scholars to our Legal Advocacy Program and we look forward working with them in the coming months.

FSFP-AlainAlain Mathieu (Boston College School of Law, ’17) is originally from Long Island, New York. He is a 2012 graduate of Bowdoin College, where he graduated with honors in Government and Legal Studies. He  focused a great deal of his undergraduate study on campaign finance in the United States, and is strongly considering pursuing a legal career in campaign finance law.

 

 

FSFP-BenBen O’Grady (Georgetown University Law Center, ’16) is originally from Charlottesville, Virginia and now lives in  Philadelphia. After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in political science and a minor in economics, he  ventured up to  Washington D.C. for law school. While at Georgetown, Ben has interned at the D.C. Superior Court and at the Federal  Maritime Commission. While not studying law, he enjoys playing golf, watching almost all sports,  especially the  Hokies and Boston Bruins, and following Supreme Court decisions.

 

 

FSFP-TalarTalar DerOhannessian (Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, ’16) grew up in Glendale, CA.  She attended an Armenian school until college and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Communication Studies. Before law school she volunteered for many local political campaigns, worked as a writing tutor for many years, and was the Assistant Marketing Director for a national jewelry designer for four years. Talar is interested in politics, constitutional law, and election law. She is currently a staffer on the Entertainment Law Review at Loyola and will be a Production Editor as a 3L.

 

Free Speech For People is also pleased to welcome our Summer Intern, Danny Gifford.

DannyGiffordHeadshotDanny Gifford (Stanford University, ’16) is a rising senior at Stanford University majoring in Political Science and American Studies. As an undergraduate, Danny has become interested in campaign finance and voting rights issues while taking Stanford Law School courses on the First Amendment and the regulation of the political process. Danny most recently worked as an intake counselor at the ACLU of Northern California, interviewing citizens who felt their constitutional rights had been violated and discussing the merits of their claims with staff attorneys. Previously, he worked on the communications team of Everytown for Gun Safety, as a policy assistant on a California congressional campaign, and as a congressional intern in Washington, D.C.
